The Eindhoven Centre for innovation Studies (Ecis) is a research centre based at the School of Innovation Sciences at Eindhoven Universit of Technology and aims to perform basic scientific research in the field of innovation studies.
ECIS brings together researchers from various backgrounds including economics, management, sociology, engineering sciences, law and history, with a common interest in studies on technology and innovation. Their research program focuses on the analysis of the causes and consequences of innovation and technological change in organizations, networks, regions, economic sectors and national economic systems.
The Beta Research School for Operations Management and Logistics is recognized by the KNAW (Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences). This recognition created a momentum that enabled to streamline the existing Beta research programs within the constituting institutes: the department of Technology Management (TM) and the department of Mathematics and Computer Science (MCS) at Technische Universiteit Eindhoven (TU/e) and the Centre for Telematics and Information Technology (CTIT) at Universiteit Twente (UT). The streamlining involved both the content of the research programs as well as the quality and quantity of the output of these programs. During the last five years Beta has succeeded in improving the coherence, quality and quantity of its research program.
