Jack van der Veen is Professor of Supply Chain Optimization at Nyenrode Business Universiteit. He is also the Associate Dean of Degree Programs which implies that he hold overall responsibility of all Management programs that lead to the Master of Science (MSc) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.

His areas of interest include: Operations Research, Production & Logistics Management, Optimization Models and Supply Chain Management. Courses taught by him include ‘Quantitative Methods in Business’ and ‘Production & Operations Management’. He also teaches in various executive programs and workshops, primarily on Supply Chain Management issues.

He has published numerous articles both in international research journals and in managerial journals and has co-edited a book on Demand & Supply Chain Management.

Jack van der Veen graduated cum laude in Econometrics at Universiteit Groningen in 1986. From 1986 to 1990 he worked as lecturer and researcher at the Institute of Econometrics at the same university. He completed his PhD in Combinatorial Optimization in 1992.

In 1997 he was co-founder of what is now the Cluster for Marketing & SCM of which he was the director in 2000-2001. Since 2001 he is director of the Nyenrode MSc in Management programs (full-time and part-time) and since 2003 director of the Nyenrode full-time and part-time MBA programs
