Curriculum vitae

Since 1978 Dr. Jan Bilderbeek (born in Amersfoort, NL,1943) is Professor of Financial Management (specialised in financial ratio analysis & company diagnosis) and since 1982 also of Business Economics at the School of Management Studies at the University of Twente.

In 1968 he graduated in economics at the University of Amsterdam and in 1977, he received a Ph.D. at Twente University.

From 1968 through 1970 he worked as a Lecturer in Budgeting and Cost-Accounting in the Faculty of Economics at the Amsterdam University.

In 1970 he joined the School of Management Studies.

In 1972/1973 and from 1982 until 1988 Dr. Bilderbeek was (vice-)dean of the Management School.

In 1973/1974 he was dean in charge of studies.

He was also a part-time Lecturer and examiner of the Dutch Institute of Certified Public Accountants (“NIVRA”) (1972-1982).

He supervised about 35 Ph.D. projects.

From 1984 until 1994 professor Bilderbeek was member/chairman of the Academic Council of the China-EEC Management Program.

Since 1994 Dr. Bilderbeek is appointed as honoured visiting Professor at Hunan University International Business School, Changsha, China.

Professor Bilderbeek is member of the Supervisory Board of four Dutch companies.

Besides a book on “Financial Ratio Analysis” and a book on Business Administration (as a editor) on Business Strategy, on new entrepreneurial activities (starting companies) he has published numerous articles in academic and professional journals.
