Quantitative Methods

Subject:

The main aim of this course is an introduction in various advanced statistical methods to be used in research in business economics and management. Such an introduction is always coupled with the conditions under which such use is allowed and on really applying these methods on different data-sets drawn from several areas of business economics and management. General statistical issues related to the use of these quantitative will be discussed as well.

Foreknowledge:

This course is only open to researchers who are addressing issues related to the fields of business administration, management and business economics. External participants should enclose a summary of their research plan so that compliance with this requirement may be assessed.
Participants are required to have a basic knowledge of quantitative methods and methodology as described earlier. Participants lacking that knowledge are not allowed to enter the course.

Study Load:

This course will involve a total of 7EC (approximately 175 hours), including literature study.

Each part of the course contains an assignment in advance. Each assignment must be successfully completed before a certificate can be rewarded. The LISREL assignment is also obligatory for those participants who only participate in Part IV. (Part IV including the LISREL assignment represents a study load of 2 EC).
