This course focuses on the foundations of corporate finance. Corporate finance – in the academic context – encompasses the financial management of corporations, in particular capital budgeting (investment) and funding decisions. The course starts with some introductory lectures that will focus on valuation issues under certainty and uncertainty, and on the determinants of the cost of capital. Following these introductory lessons, we will look at capital budgeting and funding decisions in greater detail and apply finance tools to company valuation, capital structure, corporate restructuring and corporate strategy and payout policy.
